The AMMAA Certification Standard
Certification through the AMMAA is not merely a validation of technical proficiency—which is governed by the respective style’s lineage—but a certification of Professional Integrity and Ethical Conduct.
To be an AMMAA Certified Member, an instructor must meet two non-negotiable pillars of authority:
- SafeSport Certification: All certified members must maintain current SafeSport certification, ensuring a gold-standard environment of safety, protection, and professional boundaries for all students.
- Lineage Validation: Members must be recommended and validated by their primary style instructor or the governing organization of their specific art.
Our Philosophy: We believe that technical skill without respect is dangerous. AMMAA certifies that our members hold a fundamental respect for all people, regardless of rank or background, and are committed to the ethical advancement of the martial arts community.
